Newcomer Peter M. Cohen wrote, directed and
produced this supposedly provocative comedy. In esscence it fairly mean spirited. I found it a
little tedious and didn't keep my interest even though there are some decent humourous moments.
If you are thinking of taking the children to see WHIPPED then be warned that the language
is rough in many spots. So use your own discretion but the kids will not find this a film that will hold
their attention.
The story centers around three old college buddies who get together in a local diner where they
talk up their conquests usually while spewing out swear words. They eventually end up going after
the same girl. They thing is none of them realize that this is happening. They each believe that this
woman is the "perfect woman". Amanda Peet plays Mia the object of their affections. She is
the only bright spot in this movie. I really liked her in THE WHOLE NINE YARDS. She came to
my in this movie and I really liked her. I am sure that we will see a lot more of Ms. Peet in
future films.
Needless to say the group begins to squabble and fall apart as they compete for her attentions.
Along the way they put down everybody and everything. That's it I don't really want to waste more time
on this film. You might as well wait for it on video. I'm going to watch something better now, I hope.
